What is Thrive Canberra Home Physio?
Thrive Canberra Home Physio is a locally owned, woman-led mobile physiotherapy service providing evidence-based, compassionate care in the comfort of your home. Our Senior Clinical Physiotherapists each have over 15 years of experience and support older adults, NDIS participants, and Home Care Package clients to stay mobile, confident, and independent.
Do you come to my home?
Yes. We’re a fully mobile service — we come to you at home, in an aged-care facility, or community setting.
Which areas do you service?
We service all of Canberra and nearby NSW regions, including:
Tuggeranong, Woden, Weston Creek, Belconnen, Gungahlin, Inner North, and Inner South
NSW: Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra, Googong, Karabar, and surrounding areas
If you’re just outside these regions, please contact us — we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
What languages do you speak?
Our physiotherapists speak English, Vietnamese, Cantonese, and Mandarin, ensuring inclusive and culturally responsive care.
Appointments and Referrals
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No referral is needed for private clients. For NDIS, Home Care Package, DVA, or Medicare programs, your GP or case manager can provide the required documentation.
How do I book an appointment?
Bookings can be made via phone, email, or through our online enquiry form. We’ll confirm your details and arrange a convenient time.
Can family or carers attend sessions?
Absolutely. We welcome carers, family, and support coordinators to join sessions — collaboration helps improve outcomes.
Funding and Payment
Do you see NDIS clients?
Yes. We work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants, providing mobility training, functional assessments, and evidence-based therapy to achieve individual goals.
Can I use my Home Care Package?
Yes. We partner with many Home Care Package providers across Canberra and Queanbeyan. Your case manager can refer directly or we can coordinate with them.
Do you accept private clients?
Yes. We offer private home visits, and rebates may apply through your private health fund.
Do you bulk bill or accept Medicare?
We accept Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plans, which provide rebates for eligible clients.

What are your areas of specialty?
Our physiotherapists specialise in:
Falls prevention and balance retraining (including our structured 18-week program)
Post-operative rehabilitation (after hip and knee replacements, shoulder surgery, or other orthopaedic procedures)
Neurological rehabilitation (Parkinson’s, stroke, multiple sclerosis, etc.)
LSVT BIG therapy for Parkinson’s disease
Aged-care physiotherapy and mobility maintenance
Post-surgery and hospital discharge rehabilitation

Virtual-reality and technology-assisted rehabilitation (for suitable clients)
Functional Capacity Assessments for NDIS participants
Do you offer hydrotherapy?
Yes — from February 2025, we’ll offer hydrotherapy sessions to support mobility, strength, and pain management through water-based exercise. Sessions will be available at a hydrotherapy centre in the Woden area, or we can arrange sessions at your preferred pool if suitable.
Do you provide home exercise programs?
Yes. Every client receives a personalised home or pool-based exercise plan, provided in print or digital format to support continued progress.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes. Our physiotherapists bring all required portable equipment, such as resistance bands, balance aids, and therapy tools.

Practical Details
How long are sessions?
Session lengths are tailored to your needs and discussed following your initial assessment. We offer 40-, 60-, and 90-minute sessions, depending on your goals and the level of support required.
What should I prepare before my session?
Wear comfortable clothing and have any mobility aids nearby. For your first visit, please have relevant medical or referral paperwork ready.
